Crime is unacceptably high in our society. We need real solutions for our real problems.

  • GOOD will address the root causes of crime by ensuring improved, professional policing works hand in hand with effective social services and social development.

  • These same methods have reduced crime by more than 80% in Colombian cities.

Education Is The Key To Prosperity

Inadequate, unequal resources, and shortage of 20,000 qualified teachers.

  • GOOD will reopen teacher training colleges. Unions must help train their members.

  • GOOD will promote e-learning to bring South African children into the digital economy. Education from early childhood to early adulthood must encourage the talent and develop the skills that the market needs now, and in the future.

  • GOOD will ensure access to quality early-childhood and basic education that prepares school leavers to find a job, or enter further or higher education.

  • GOOD will encourage a culture of sports in schools again

When Women Rise, The Nation Rises

At current rates, it will take more than 100 years to close the gender pay gap.

  • GOOD will fight for EQUAL PAY FOR EQUAL WORK

  • Violent homes beget a violent society. 2 out of 3 women killed in South Africa are killed by their partners.

  • GOOD will educate boys and men to stop violence against women in the home, and in society. Education is key in helping girls and women escape the multi-generational poverty cycle.

  • GOOD will provide equitable access to education to disadvantaged girls and women through the use of incentivised social grants.

Undo the Structural Inequality In Our Society, And Fight Racism

Race, Space and Gender continues to define the opportunities for South Africans. Most South Africans are GOOD, not racist and not intolerant.

  • GOOD will not allow racists to speak for us.

  • GOOD will dismantle the remnants of structural inequality, racism and intolerance in our society using the existing Chapter 9 institutions.

  • GOOD will lead the way to a GOOD South Africa where we all care for one another – united in our diversity. Education is key in helping girls and women escape the multi-generational poverty cycle.

  • GOOD will provide equitable access to education to disadvantaged girls and women through the use of incentivised social grants.

Equitable Access To An Inclusive Data & Digital Network

Access, connection and data costs exclude many people from the internet and digital economy. South Africa must not be left behind in the technology revolution.

  • GOOD will accelerate fibre roll out and reduce data costs.

  • GOOD will give priority access to schools and lower income neighborhoods. Education is key in helping girls and women escape the multi-generational poverty cycle.

  • GOOD will provide equitable access to education to disadvantaged girls and women through the use of incentivised social grants.

No Barrier To Basic Health Care

Primary health care focus is critical so that as many illnesses and diseases are prevented as possible. This will alleviate pressure on state hospitals so that specialist healthcare services can focus more on emergencies and non-preventative diseases.

  • GOOD supports the provision of quality basic national health care.

  • GOOD supports a national healthcare that can work in conjunction with private healthcare.

  • GOOD recognises the right of every South African to procure additional health care provision over and above the nationally provided health care.
