South Africa climbs up the global competitiveness rankings

GOOD welcomes the news that South Africa is the highest ranked mainland African country in the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) annual Global Competitiveness Index.

South Africa, amongst the fastest climbers on the ranking, has increased 7 places since last year.

GOOD has consistently called for government to create the conditions conducive for economic investment and growth. For the GOOD of South Africa, the faster we stop corruption and restore confidence in our country, the better our common future will be.

Although the ranking improvement is welcomed, at 40th out of 141 countries, GOOD recognizes that much room for improvement remains. We will continue in our role as an opposition party supporting GOOD governance and holding corrupt activities, and actions which lack integrity, to account. For the GOOD of South Africa
